Knighton Town Football Club is a Welsh football club founded in 1887, currently (as of 2010) playing in the Mid Wales South League (level 4 in the Welsh pyramid system). They spent seven years in the 1990s at Level 2, playing in the Cymru Alliance but resigned during the 1998–99 season to return to local football due to insufficient funds for players and travelling.

In the Welsh Cup, Knighton Town have hosted Hereford United, and the ground has also staged Under 18 International between Wales and the Republic of Ireland in 1992.

On the 28th January 1961, Knighton Town played at Cardiff City who were then in Football League First Division (today known as the Premier League) in the Welsh Cup 5th Round. The match was to be originally played at Knighton but was switched to Ninian Park because of crowd safety fears. In front of a crowd of 8,128 Cardiff City won the game 16–0 with Welsh International Derek Tapscott scoring six goals in which is still Cardiff's record victory and Knighton's record defeat today.
